Corrections

How to report an incorrect specification, variant mismatch, tool result or outdated source, and how the claim should be reviewed.

Camera specifications, hardware revisions, package contents and manufacturer guidance can change. HotBoxCams welcomes precise reports that help identify an error or a claim needing a new check. Use the contact form to send a correction.

What to include

  • The HotBoxCams page address and the statement, table entry or link that appears wrong.
  • The exact product model, variant, capacity or hardware revision involved.
  • A primary-source link, such as a manufacturer manual, specification page or compatibility list.
  • The proposed correction and why the source supports it.

For a retailer mismatch, describe the product or bundle reached by the button. For a tool issue, provide the inputs needed to reproduce the result and explain the expected calculation. Keep personal account, payment and order information out of the report.

How a report is evaluated

The relevant claim should be checked against the source and exact variant. A newer page may describe a different hardware revision rather than prove that every earlier model had the same specifications. When official documents disagree, the appropriate correction may be to disclose uncertainty rather than select an unsupported answer.

A changed fact can also affect comparisons, accessory recommendations and calculator assumptions. Those related statements need review when the correction is material. A retailer destination that no longer matches the stated item should not continue to be presented as an exact match.

What an update means

Material factual corrections should explain what changed. A checked date should reflect review of the relevant evidence, not merely a formatting change. Correcting typography or layout does not establish that the product was researched again or physically tested.

Our current coverage is based on researched sources and AI-assisted drafting, with an organization byline. We have not physically tested the featured models. Reports of real-world behavior are useful context, but an individual experience should not automatically become a universal performance claim.

Response and privacy

No fixed response or resolution time is promised. A source-backed report is easier to evaluate than an unsupported request to change a ranking. The editorial policy explains our evidence standards, and the privacy policy explains how the contact submission is stored and how to request deletion.
